Tarryn

Tarryn was raised on a cattle and sheep ranch near Weyburn, SK.  She grew up on horseback working cattle and barrel racing.  As an adult, she worked in oil and gas reclamation after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology & Geography.

"I grew up with horses, but after being out in the 'real world' something dawned on me... Most people don't ever get to experience the magical connection with these wise equine teachers."

In the fall of 2019 she was certified in Equine Assisted Learning by EAL Canada and since then has enjoyed spending her time bringing horses and humans together.  She worked as an Equine Team Member at Living Hope Ranch in Maple Creek, SK, taught with Kyra Londos Training Stables in Kelowna, BC, and is currently an Education Assistant in Bengough, SK. In these roles she has gained valuable experience with youth from pre-school children to at-risk teenage girls, as well as folks of all ages with various physical and mental disabilities.

One of her favourite parts about this career is seeing the changes in individuals as they spend time with the horses.

Spice

SPICE is the youngest of the herd, but she enjoys spending time with people, especially if she is receiving any amount of attention!  She excels in ground work sessions and is a great partner to those clients needing that extra challenge.

Cricket

CRICKET is the strong and silent type.  He is timid with a little bit of a stubborn streak.  However, he is genuine in his reactions and response to people, and acts as a gentle mirror and landing ground for client emotion.

Scout

SCOUT is a big little sweetheart!  He is so gentle with kids and adults: giving children confidence to do things by themselves, and providing nervous and fearful adults a safe place to connect.

Bear

BEAR is the go-to companion for any children or new participants that come to the farm.  He is very gentle with timid children and happily takes any challenges that students give him.

Meet Our Barn Crew

The services we offer wouldn't  be possible without the hands-on support from some special people. A special thank you goes to these people for offering their expertise during group or family programs and youth and school camps. They are often the people in the background preparing horses or setting up and taking down obstacles. They provide horse expertise during programs and help keep our learners safe around the horses.
